Indoor Soccer

Indoor Soccer is a 7 week program that runs January through February.  Children 5-13 years old may participate.  Practices will run once a week; these practices will be separate for juniors (5-8 years old) and seniors (9-13 years old).  Every week will include attendance, warm-up, and stretching prior to any skills and drills being started.  Over the course of seven weeks the seniors will cover a variety of skills and strategies including: ball handling and dribbling, shooting, passing techniques, team work, as well as offensive and defensive strategies of the game.  Following the drills portion, a soccer game will conclude the practice to allow players to apply what they have just learnt in a game situation.

In the junior program emphasis will be placed on rules and basic skills needed in order to play soccer.  Over the course of the seven weeks the juniors will cover: object of the game, the rules, scoring, boundaries, dribbling, ball handling techniques, passing, shooting, teamwork, sportsmanship, and offensive and defensive roles in the game.  The skills will be taught through a series of drills and games, and each practice will conclude with a soccer game to allow children to apply what they have learned.  The seven weeks will conclude with a tournament for both juniors and seniors where  the children will get to perform their learned skills in a series of friendly competitive games
