Youth Leaders

GRDO’s Youth Leaders are an integral part to our team.  Our Youth Leaders are those who graduate from the GRDO Leaders-in-Training program for 14-17 year olds.  The course is offered twice annually to all youth in the city and is an educational and fun way for youth to get equipped with tools to become better leaders, team members,  and employees.

For a cost of only $40, this course gives youth training in a number of subjects, including: leadership, teamwork, goal setting, communication, child development, behaviour management, conflict resolution, community activism, resume writing, interview skills, and more!

Once our youth leaders complete the 30-hour classroom experience, they receive a Youth Leader t-shirt and complete 30 hours of volunteer hours with us.  Upon completion of their hours, they receive a certificate of completion and recognition at an awards ceremony and potluck evening.  These hours can double as their highschool volunteer hours.
